In the morning, I will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco between 8:00 am and 9:00 am to head to Chinchero. In this village, we will visit a textile center where we will learn about the ancestral weaving techniques that have been passed down for thousands of years. Additionally, we will learn about the customs and folklore of Chinchero, gaining insight into the lives of its inhabitants.
We continue with the visit to the Moray archeological complex; it is a unique site with circular constructions that function as an Inca agricultural laboratory. In that place, we can appreciate the architecture and understand the agricultural practices of the Incas.
We will continue to the Maras Salt Mines, at 3,380 meters above sea level. It is known for its 3,000 salt pits hand-dug into a mountain. The salt mines are one of the few places in the world where pink salt is harvested using ancient methods inherited from the Incas.
After visiting Salinas, we will head to the exclusive picnic spot, an experience that connects with nature and enjoys a colorful and delicious picnic with a view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas mountains. Finally, we will return to Cusco; we will arrive around 5:00 PM.

A small village located 3,760 meters (12,336 feet) above sea level, Chinchero was the royal residence of the tenth Inca king, Túpac Inca Yupanqui. Today, the village is renowned for its archaeological site, which includes a colonial church, a palace, and well-preserved agricultural terraces. Chinchero is also famous for having the best weavers in the Cusco region, who create handwoven alpaca textiles using natural colors derived from local plants.
Situated at the top of the Sacred Valley, Moray features four stepped circular depressions in the terrain. The deepest reaches 30 meters (98 feet) and is believed to have functioned as an agricultural laboratory. Each terrace, with its varying levels, creates microclimates suitable for different crops, allowing the testing and adaptation of various plants to diverse climatic conditions. This innovative system reflects the advanced agricultural technology of the region’s ancient inhabitants.
Near the town of Maras, the Salt Mines have over 3,000 salt ponds. The saltwater spring is located at the highest point of the complex. The residents of Maras harvest salt through an evaporation process that can last up to a month before it is delivered to nearby markets.
