This thrilling adventure begins at 7:00 a.m., when a professional guide picks you up from your accommodation and drives to the village of Cruzpata, a journey of approximately 50 minutes enjoying the scenic and architectural beauty of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
At this location, your guide will provide instructions for the quad bike tour, with a focus on practicing maneuvers and properly using the safety equipment.
It’s time to experience extreme adventure on four wheels, with an hour and a half ride towards Moray, reaching the archaeological site that showcases Inca agro-technology. Discover the ingenious system of circular terraces, where Andean crops are diversified, reflecting the genetic evolution of their harvests.
After the visit to Moray, we will return to our base in Cruzpata to return the ATVs. We will then head to the Maras Salt Mines, where the guide will give a detailed explanation of the traditional salt production process. Finally, we will take transportation back to the city of Cusco and your hotel, concluding the tour around 2:00 p.m.

Moray is an archaeological site located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, at an altitude of 3,385 meters (11,105 feet). It is known for its impressive circular terraces, built by the Inca Empire in the 15th century.
These terraces are arranged in a series of concentric circles that decrease in size as they go down. It is believed that the Incas used them for agricultural experiments, leveraging differences in depth and temperature to create various microclimates. This allowed them to assess the growth of different crops under varied conditions.
The site also includes a complex of structures and irrigation channels designed to control the flow of water to the terraces and store agricultural products. The buildings at Moray likely had ceremonial and administrative purposes.
The Maras Salt Mines, also known as the Maras Salt Ponds, are a series of evaporation ponds located in the Sacred Valley at an altitude of 3,200 meters (10,498 feet). These ponds have been used since pre-Columbian times and continue to operate using traditional techniques.
Located on a sloping hillside near Maras, the salt mines cover several hectares and consist of miles of small, terraced pools. These pools are filled with saltwater from a natural underground spring. As the water evaporates in the sun, salt crystals are left behind, which local families collect manually.
The salt harvested from the Maras Salt Mines is highly valued for its purity and distinctive flavor. It is used for cooking, preserving food, and also has medicinal and ceremonial applications. Additionally, salt production is a crucial source of income for local families, who work together to maintain the ponds and harvest the salt.

The total duration of the tour is approximately 6 hours, including the travel time to and from Cusco, the ATV ride, and visits to Maras and Moray.
